The wibutler energy OS at the ISH in Frankfurt

Frankfurt, 14 March 2023 - wibutler, the IoT platform for digital building technology, is presenting the further development of its wibutler energy OS at the ISH in Frankfurt. This is a comprehensive energy management system that optimises both electrical and thermal energy flows in the home. For the first time, it now also offers the option of measuring electricity consumption and generation flexibly and independently. As a result, wibutler energy OS realises applications that take both types of energy into account. Furthermore, wibutler has already announced further development phases that will further increase the possibilities of the wibutler energy OS.

The wibutler energy OS is part of the well-known wibutler OS and enables far-reaching energy savings through applications such as individual room and demand-controlled heating control for heat generators, hydronic balancing, the cooling function for heat pumps and many more. The special feature of the system is the flexible choice of manufacturers and devices, so that it can be installed almost independently of the building infrastructure. This is a strong argument, particularly for existing buildings that are subject to high refurbishment pressure. In addition, the wibutler energy OS differentiates itself by taking electrical and thermal energy flows into account - a core feature that is now being expanded even further.

The wibutler energy OS and its possibilities are now being further developed over three initial development phases. The functions of the first phase are currently being presented for the first time at the ISH in Frankfurt, the world's leading trade fair for water, heat and air. Here, wibutler shows how users can measure their electricity consumption and generation flexibly and independently. In this way, wibutler offers an energy management system that takes thermal and electrical energy flows into account and thus enables applications such as charging the buffer or hot water storage tank with your own solar power. The energy self-sufficiency level of the house is also calculated and displayed in the wibutler app. The technical basis for these new possibilities is provided by the extensive integration of various Eltako meters.

In the subsequent second phase, all energy flows in the house are also visualised in a detailed energy dashboard. The third phase then provides for intelligent control of PV electricity in heating systems based on the devices connected to the wibutler pro. Further phases are already being planned to expand the functional scope of the wibutler energy OS.

„We are delighted to be able to help our customers save energy costs and conserve resources with the current further development of the wibutler energy OS and the upcoming development stages,“ says Michael Jüdiges, CEO of wibutler. „The new functions are an important step on the way to a comprehensive and flexible energy management system for digital building technology.“
