Insolvency proceedings initiated for DBT – Focus on continuation for prefabricated house manufacturers & modular builders, as well as the housing industry

Münster, 20 July 2026 – Despite intensive efforts, DBT Digital Building Technology GmbH & Co. KG (DBT), the holder of wibutler technology, has not succeeded in implementing the necessary restructuring and transformation within the available timeframe. The company is therefore in insolvency proceedings. At the same time, numerous customers and partners have made concrete offers of support. On this basis, the wibutler team is working with great intensity on the restructuring and continuation of wibutler's business activities – with a clear focus on the areas of prefabricated house manufacturers & module builders and the housing industry.

The shareholders' decision to terminate the DBT joint venture had already been communicated in June 2026. Since then, the management has examined all restructuring options. Despite these efforts, insolvency could not be averted. For the wibutler team and the management, the priority now is to manage the process in an orderly manner and to establish the continuation of wibutler's business activities on a stable footing.

In recent weeks, numerous concrete offers of support for the continuation of business activities have been received from customers and partners. This backing is seen as a clear signal of the value and relevance of wibutler technology in the market. On this basis, the wibutler team is working intensively on viable models for the restructuring and continuation of business activities, particularly for the target groups of prefabricated house manufacturers & modular builders, and the housing industry.

„To have so many customers and partners actively offering us their support at this stage really strengthens our resolve. We are working at full capacity to continue wibutler's business activities for our partners in the prefabricated and modular construction industries, as well as for the housing sector, and are in close communication with all relevant business partners regarding this.“

— Michael Jüdiges, Managing Director

The wibutler team and Mr. Jüdiges remain in close contact with business partners, customers, and suppliers, and are consistently continuing to work on the restructuring project. The aim is to provide clarity early on and maintain ongoing business operations. As soon as final decisions are made regarding further progress, these will be communicated immediately.
