Viessmann is adapting its cloud interface. This change affects all devices that are connected to your wibutler pro (1st & 2nd gen.) via the Viessmann Cloud. To ensure that your smart home can continue to be controlled intelligently and efficiently, a firmware update is required - before 10 November 2025.

What is changing at Viessmann

Viessmann will soon be changing the technical basis for cloud communication - specifically the ViCare API. From 10 November 2025, only systems that use this new interface will be supported. Firmware versions 3.1.1.2532 for your wibutler pro (2nd gen.) and 2.59 for your wibutler pro (1st gen.) will prepare your smart home for this.

These devices are affected

If you have connected one of the following devices to wibutler via the Viessmann Cloud, the update is relevant for you:

  • Viessmann Vitocal (2xx and 3xx)
  • Viessmann Vitodens
  • Viessmann Vitocharge
  • Viessmann Vitovalor
  • Viessmann VitoAir
  • Viessmann Vitoplanar
  • Viessmann Vitoligno
  • Viessmann heating circuits
  • Viessmann solar thermal

These products will only continue to be controllable as usual via wibutler if you install the firmware update.

What happens without an update?

If the update is not carried out, the affected devices will lose their connection to your wibutler after the changeover at Viessmann. This means that they can no longer be controlled in the app and are no longer networked.

To install the update

The update takes place not automatically. Please open your wibutler-App and start the installation of the firmware version there manually 3.1.1. The update is available now - the sooner you install it, the better.

These devices are not affected

Products such as the ViCare radiator thermostat or the ViCare climate sensor are not affected by the change. They do not communicate via the cloud, but via ZigBee - and continue to function as usual.
