Insights into the installation at St Martin's Primary School in Hagen a.T.W.
The fact that not only children and teachers can be smart in a school is shown by the GSankt Martin school in Hagen a.T.W. Here, all classrooms were equipped with the wibutler individual room control system. As a result, the school heats more energy-efficiently and can easily control the temperatures via the wibutler app. The school attached particular importance to minimising maintenance costs. In the following, we explain which devices were selected and how the trades company H. Schade managed to minimise its own installation costs.

Customised control
In each classroom at St Martin's Primary School, a wireless temperature sensor and a Smart actuator mounted. These communicate with the wibutler pro, enabling precise temperature control for each room - simply via the wibutler app. The caretaker can create heating rules for the classrooms with just a few clicks: warm rooms for lessons in the morning and an automatic night-time setback in the afternoon to maximise energy savings. The intuitive concept of individual room control proves to be particularly practical in Hagen, as the individual year groups all follow the same timetable and can be easily summarised in a common rule in the wibutler app.
Easy installation & maintenance
Advantages of the devices
The devices used communicate with each other via EnOcean radio, so that complex cabling could be avoided. Another advantage: the Temperature sensors could be mounted flexibly. In Hagen, this option was used to install the temperature sensors at a sufficient height to prevent unintentional damage by the children.
The school also attached great importance to minimising maintenance costs. For this reason, energy self-sufficient devices were chosen that do not require regular battery changes.
Radio for large buildings
Range planning
However, the size of the school and the thick walls posed particular challenges for the radio signal strength. Careful range planning was therefore carried out in advance together with Eltako.
However, EnOcean radio is not only ideal for heavily frequented buildings such as schools or detached houses due to its high performance, but also because it combines this with minimal radiation exposure. The radiation exposure of a conventional light switch alone is a hundred times that of an EnOcean radio telegram.

Smooth installation
The craft enterprise H. Schade was keen from the outset to carry out the installation on site as efficiently and quickly as possible. It therefore utilised the wibutler pre-configuration service.
As part of this service, wibutler commissioned the wibutler pro control centres in advance, trained all the devices and sorted them so that they could be installed directly at the designated location. After a brief introduction to the wibutler app, the caretaker was able to start creating the heating rules immediately.
