However, many devices are currently still on an older firmware version that requires this certificate. does not contain. So that your device can continue to receive updates automatically in the future, please install firmware 2.60. This is the only way to keep your wibutler fully functional.
To carry out the update
- Open the wibutler app.
- Go to Settings → wibutler → Firmware update.
- Start the update to version 2.60.
How do I recognise whether my device is affected?
The housing of the wibutler pro (1st gen.) has prominent ventilation holes on the top. The housing of the wibutler pro (2nd gen.), on the other hand, is smooth and flatter overall.
If you have a wibutler pro (2. Gen.) you don't need to do anything - this update only affects 1st generation devices.
What happens if the update is not installed in time?
Without the latest certificates with 2.60, online services can no longer be used after 9 November 2025. This includes the Alexa skill, remote control and firmware updates.
A subsequent software update can then only be carried out manually using a prepared USB stick.
