You will soon be able to use your wibutler pro (2nd gen.) as a Matter Bridge. While you were previously able to connect wibutler with Alexa and Google Home, Apple Home will also be available for the first time. Matter also fundamentally changes how wibutler communicates with smart home systems.
Local instead of cloud.
Now it runs directly in the house.
If you already use Alexa or Google Home, you were previously reliant on online services. With Matter, all communication between your wibutler pro, However, the connection to the Matter controller (e.g. Apple Home) and the connected devices takes place purely locally in the home network.
What that means for you:
- Stable control - even if the internet goes down
- Shorter response times - because there is no cloud in between
- More privacy - Your data stays in your home
- Independence - No external server services required
This makes your smart home even more reliable and simply feels safe.

apple Home:
Smart control & seamless networking
For the first time, wibutler devices can also be connected directly to Apple Home. This gives you full control - conveniently via iPhone, iPad or Siri. And you benefit from a host of new functions that not only make your home smarter, but also noticeably more convenient:
voice control:
Siri follows your command.
Easily control smart devices by voice - whether via your smartphone or a HomePod.
Examples:
- „Hey Siri, lower the shutters in the living room.“
- „Hey Siri, set the heating in the children's room to 22 degrees.“
Advantage: Intuitive, quick and ideal if you don't have a hand free or are lying comfortably on the sofa.
Groups:
Multiple devices. one command.
Combine devices such as lamps or roller shutters into groups - for example „bathroom lighting“ or „living room roller shutters“. You can then control created groups by voice, scene or automation.
Examples:
- „Hey Siri, switch off the light in the living room“: All lamps go out at the same time
- „Hey Siri, shutters down on the ground floor“All shades react synchronously
Advantage: You can conveniently control many devices together - and save a lot of time in the process.
scenes:
Your home thinks with you.
Combine devices to create entire everyday scenarios. You can use ready-made scenes (e.g. „Coming home“) or create your own.
Examples:
- „Good morning“: Lights dim up gently, radiators in the bathroom get warmer, shutters go up
- „Film evening“: Lights dimmed, shading down, ventilation at low level
Advantage: More atmosphere at the touch of a button - perfect for recurring daily routines.
Widgets:
Everything under control. Without opening the app.
Place devices or groups directly on your smartphone home screen.
Examples:
- See the temperature at a glance
- Raise roller shutters at the touch of a finger
- Start the „Good morning“ scene with a touch
Advantage: You no longer need to open an app. You can keep an eye on your smart home anytime, anywhere.
Automations:
your home works independently.
With automations, your devices can react to changes in your home. These changes can be recognised either by devices (e.g. motion detectors) or by the smartphone (e.g. geofencing). In addition to individual devices, groups or scenes can also be used in automations.
Examples:
- Roller shutters lower automatically at sunset
- Radiators turn down when you leave your home
- Light in the hallway goes on when you come home in the evening
Advantage: You no longer have to switch anything manually - your home knows what to do.
Shortcuts:
Automations for professionals.
The automations in Apple Home are somewhat limited in comparison. However, the „Shortcuts“ app goes a good deal further. Here you can create complex sequences - ideal for combining with your smartphone.
Examples:
- When your alarm goes off, the shutters go up, the lights switch on and your podcast continues in the bathroom
- When you leave work, the heating is switched on and you are informed of your arrival time
Advantage: Maximum flexibility for individual requirements - perfect for technology fans.
Matter supports various device types - wibutler can control twelve of them:
