The expert for sanitary technology and drinking water hygiene from Olpe is participating in the IoT platform for digital building technology
Olpe/ Münster/ Essen, 03 April 2025 - wibutler gains another strong partner in Kemper. With Bega, Eltako, Oventrop, Viessmann Climate Solutions - and now also Kemper - wibutler has five equal partners. This provides wibutler with the ideal conditions to act as a manufacturer-independent IoT platform for digital building technology.
Kemper shares the vision of being able to develop solutions for the current challenges facing the building technology sector through cross-manufacturer collaboration. In addition, the company from Olpe recognises the opportunity to ensure the future viability of German SMEs with a self-defined standard.
„With increasing digitalisation, we are able to provide our customers with ever more comprehensive support. In terms of planning and designing drinking water installations, we already offer an excellent, advanced software solution with Dendrit Studio. We are now taking the next step towards the future with wibutler to optimise customer support during the operational phase too! As a new shareholder, we are looking forward to further developing the platform together with strong partners from the SME sector“, explains Dr Michael Rehse, Managing Director of Casting and Building Technology at Kemper.
The core features of the wibutler platform are openness to manufacturers and technological flexibility. While the four previous partners cover the areas of heat generation, heat distribution, electrical systems and lighting, Kemper is now an expert in sanitary technology and drinking water hygiene. Thanks to its extensive expertise in this area, Kemper will support the expansion of the Professional Smart Home and Professional Smart Building areas and promote the IoT technology segment. Finally, the investment also strengthens the long-term investment security of the wibutler platform.
“With Kemper, we are gaining a fifth shareholder who perfectly shares the values of the wibutler platform and will help us to design digital building technology for all generations of buildings”, says Michael Jüdiges, Managing Director of wibutler.
To ensure the independence of the wibutler platform, Bega, Eltako, Oventrop and Viessmann Climate Solutions jointly founded DBT Digital Building Technology in September 2022. This joint venture holds all technology rights to wibutler. When the company was founded, the foundations were laid for adding further shareholders in the future. Even after the successful entry of Kemper, further shareholders are to be acquired. The long-term goal of DBT Digital Building Technology is to unite the entire technological diversity of the building technology industry in order to establish a manufacturer-independent IoT platform with wibutler.
The official announcement of Kemper's participation in the wibutler platform was made on 20 March 2024. At SHK+E Essen, Kemper invited visitors to its own trade fair stand, where, in addition to the respective managing directors Dr Michael Rehse and Michael Jüdiges, Achim Maiworm as overall sales manager at Kemper explained the reasons for the participation in wibutler and shared their common vision for the IoT platform.
